SLACon is a specialist consultancy primarily providing inspection and certification services to the operators or prospective operators of Quarantine Approved Premises (QAP). These facilities are requiring operate under permits to store and handle imported quarantine biologicals under the jurisdiction of local regulations of the Department of Agriculture (DoA), previously known as DAFF and originally AQIS. As part of the permit process, operators of Class 5 premises are required to have their facility independently inspected by a Third Party Assessor (TPA), to assess the condition of the premises against DoA-published Criteria.
